Senate 2006
I got back from the 2006 California Libertarian Party convention today. The convention was held aboard a cruise ship this year, which made it very pleasant journey.
It was also an illuminating process. We elected new committee members for the Executive Committee and the Judicial Committee. We had a lengthy debate over two contentious resolutions, one opposing the death penalty and one opposing the war in Iraq. The party members are almost evenly split on these two issues.
Personally, I believe the time has come for us to exit Iraq. Our invasion was predicated on an imminent threat to our national security. I believe that with the removal of Hussein, any credible threat has been eliminated. We should therefore transfer control to the newly elected Iraqi government.

Senate 2006Yesterday I went door-to-door in Silverlake. I met some great Libertarians, including Michael McCullough who graciously invited me into his home.
I enjoy speaking with like-minded people and hearing the issues they're facing in their neighborhoods.
Tonight I'll be in Culver City and Palms.

Senate 2006I'm busy collecting signatures from registered Libertarians in my district. I'll be out again Saturday and Sunday. I still need over 100 signatures to waive the filing fee.
